Old Testament 1
Genesis 39

No matter where you are, no matter the situation, the Lord is with you and His promises for you still stands

Joseph was sold into slavery and imprisoned, God was with him and prospered him.

Joseph's master knew God was with him. If God is with you it will be obvious.

Despite God being with Joseph, He passed through difficult challenges and temptations.

Potiphar's wife tempted him but he overcame the temptation. Joseph said how can I do this great wickedness and sin against God.

Joseph was conscious of not sinning against God. He didn't let his new blessed status get into his head. Some might have said it's just a few minutes of pleasure and nobody will know. But Joseph knew God was watching and laying with his master's wife was wickedness.

Old Testament 2
psalms 17

A Prayer of David.

[17:3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited [me] in the night; thou hast tried me, [and] shalt find nothing; I am purposed [that] my mouth shall not transgress.

17:15 As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.]

Satisfaction is in righteousness. Sin never satisfies, the flesh is never satisfied.

New Testament
Matthew 22:15-46

[22:21 They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things

which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.]

This is not an excuse to sin. So many people have taken this scripture out of context. If you do that, you are no better than the Pharisees.

Our obligation to God doesn’t exempt us from being a good citizen. That’s simply the point.

{22:37} Jesus said unto him,

{22:38} This is the first and great commandment.

{22:39} And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy

neighbour as thyself. {22:40} On these two commandments

hang all the law and the prophets.

Here Jesus put more context to Him coming to fulfil the Law.

Every commandment of God all narrows down to these two.

The two Greatest commandment

Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy Mind

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

If you love God with all your heart, your mind, and soul, you will do His will.

If you love your neighbor as yourself, you won’t plot evil towards your neighbor.

If you want to live out the commandment of the Lord, do these two things.

Loving God is more than singing it in a song or professing it.

Loving God is more than an experience, it’s an expression.

Loving God is not a not a noun, it's a verb.

Loving God is an act.

Action Point
