TODAY'S BIBLE READING

OLD TESTAMENT I
Numbers 12 - 13

Jealousy brought Miriam to justice and delayed the Israelites journey.

12:2 So they said, Has the LORD indeed spoken only through Moses? Has He not spoken through us also? And the LORD heard it.

Miriam was Moses sister but yet she was jealous because God spoken to Moses.

Her actions brought the wrath of God on her and she was punish.

12:9 So the anger of the LORD was aroused against them, and He departed.

12:10 And when the cloud departed from above the tabernacle, suddenly Miriam became leprous, as white as snow. Then Aaron turned toward Miriam, and there she was, a leper.

We need to be careful when a leader appointed by God is leading us.

We just need to comply to everything God said through the leader.

The story of Miriam has taught us to be a humble follower.

Her actions doesn't affect her alone but all the Israelites.

12:15 So Miriam was shut out of the camp seven days, and the people did not journey till Miriam was brought in again.

Chapter 13 of the Bible passage discussed the Israelites spying the promise land.

13:1 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

13:2 Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a leader among them

13:3 So Moses sent them from the Wilderness of Paran according to the command of the LORD, all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel.

They indeed spy the land, but they let their fear conquers them, they forgot the God of Host is with them.

13:27 Then they told him, and said: We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.

13:28 Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.

13:33 There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.

Let us learn to overcome fear in the name of the LORD.

Revelation 12: 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

OLD TESTAMENT II
Proverbs 10

This Bible passage discussed wisdom, we will highlight the wise word from the chapter.

10:4 He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.

Never give up, The Lord is our strength.

10:5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

Ecclesiastes 3:2 ...A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted;

Don't be a lazy fellow, our Lord Jesus Christ is not lazy.

10:27 The fear of the LORD prolongs days, But the years of the wicked will be shortened.

Be a good fellow and have the fear of the Lord.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

We will never lack wisdom when we fear God.

NEW TESTAMENT
1st Peter 4

Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

4:1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

4:2 that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Remember to live a holy life.

1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
