TODAY'S BIBLE READING

OLD TESTAMENT I
Numbers 16:41 - 17:13

The reward of rebellion is destruction, from the previous bible verse, we have read how Korah, Dathan, and Abiram rebel against God, and they were severely punished.

The punishment affects all their families and it cost them their lives.

In continuation of the incident in the previous bible verse, the congregation murmurs and complained about their destruction.

16:41 On the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, saying, You have killed the people of the LORD.

Their complaint brought another plague upon them.

But Moses pleaded on their behalf to stop the plague although a lot of people already died from the plague.

16:49 Now those who died in the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, besides those who died in the Korah incident.

Action point:

Do not rebel against God, the repercussion is dangerous.

Chapter 17 of this bible passage discussed how God proves to the people who he chooses as their leader.

The Lord instructed all tribes to bring a rod with their names written on it, the selected rod is the chosen one to rule over the people.

This demonstration is a result of the people's complaints about Moses' leadership.

But God's mercies towards the people have led him to have sympathy for the people.

17:10 And the LORD said to Moses, Bring Aaron's rod back before the Testimony, to be kept as a sign against the rebels, that you may put their complaints away from Me, lest they die

Beware of rebellion against God.

OLD TESTAMENT II
Proverbs 14

This Bible passage is about wisdom.
We will extract some wise word from the chapter.

14:1 The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

14:5 A faithful witness does not lie, But a false witness will utter lies.

14:29 He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly.

NEW TESTAMENT
2 Peter 3

3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Are you ready for the coming of the LORD?

3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Do not be weary and do not faint.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
